At GardenPathTrail, we recognize that plans can change, and we commit to offering just and clear reimbursement conditions. This document provides the terms under which reimbursement requests can be made for yacht rental services.

Please examine these guidelines thoroughly before confirming a reservation. By reserving with GardenPathTrail, you are accepting and consenting to these reimbursement terms.

Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule

More than 72 Hours Before Charter

100% Refund

Eligible for: Complete reimbursement excluding administrative fees

Processing Time: 5-7 business days

Processing Fee: €50 for credit card payments

Conditions: Request must be submitted in written form through email or telephone

24-72 Hours Before Charter

50% Refund

Eligible for: Half of the total charter fee

Processing Time: 7-10 business days

Processing Fee: €25 subtracted from the reimbursement amount

Conditions: A valid reason is necessary; administrative expenses will be applied

Less than 24 Hours Before Charter

No Refund

Eligible for: Reimbursement is not available

Exception: Consideration for emergency situations may be given

Alternative: Credit for future charters may be provided at the discretion of management

Conditions: Supporting evidence required for emergency cases

Weather-Related Cancellations

Our Weather Guarantee

Your safety comes first. In cases where weather conditions are determined unsafe for sailing by our certified captain, we present the following alternatives:

  • Full Refund: The entire amount reimbursed if rescheduling is not feasible
  • Reschedule: Reschedule your rental to an upcoming available slot with no extra charge
  • Charter Credit: Issue a credit valid for one year from the original rental date

Weather Assessment Procedure

The evaluation of the weather includes:

  • Analyze wind speed and direction
  • Assessment of wave size and maritime conditions
  • Visibility and anticipated precipitation
  • Coast Guard advisories and cautions
  • Safety judgment by a professional captain

Decision Timing: Decisions regarding weather-related cancellations are finalized at least 4 hours prior to the planned departure time.

Medical Emergency Refunds

Special Circumstances

We acknowledge that medical emergencies may arise. The situations below might qualify for special consideration for a refund:

  • Sudden medical condition or injury necessitating hospital admission
  • Loss of an immediate family member
  • Called to active military duty or urgent recall
  • Mandated jury service or legal summons
  • Natural disasters impacting your journey

Required Documentation

Pertinent documents needed to address emergency refund requests include:

  • Medical note or hospital records
  • Certificate of death (if appropriate)
  • Confirmed military marching orders
  • Legal notice or jury duty subpoena
  • Official travel warnings or state of emergency announcements

Processing: Refunds due to emergencies are processed within 3-5 business days following receipt of the appropriate documents.

Operational Cancellations

Technical Failures

In the event that your appointed yacht encounters unrecoverable technical issues:

  • Replacement Vessel: An attempt will be made to offer a similar yacht
  • Full Refund: In case a satisfactory alternative is not procurable
  • Partial Refund: If the substitute yacht varies in price
  • Additional Compensation: Supplemental recompense might be offered for the inconvenience caused

Unavailability of Crew

In the infrequent event that qualified crew is not available:

  • Efforts will be made to arrange substitute crew members
  • A complete refund if the yacht rental is unable to continue
  • The option to reschedule at no extra cost

Refund Processing

Method of Reimbursement

Reimbursements will be made through the same channel used for the initial payment:

  • Credit Cards: 5-7 business days
  • Bank Transfers: 7-10 business days
  • Cash/Cheque: 3-5 business days

Processing Charges

Credit Card Handling

A €50 fee for cancellations requested over 72 hours prior

Bank Transfer Handling

A €25 charge applies for all reimbursements via bank transfer

International Handling

Extra charges may be incurred for international financial transactions

Charter Credits

Conditions for Credit Issuance

Credits may be presented as an alternative to reimbursements under certain scenarios:

  • Last-minute cancellations (under 24 hours notice)
  • Cancellations due to weather
  • Voluntary requests to change the reservation date
  • Disruptions caused by operations

Credit Guidelines

  • Validity: Credits are valid for one year from the date of issuance
  • Transferability: Credits cannot be passed on to others
  • Value: Equivalent to the complete cost of the charter without deductions for processing fees
  • Application: Credits may be applied towards any available yacht rentals
  • Expiration: Credits will not be extended beyond the one-year limit

Partial Service Refunds

Service Disruptions

If your yacht excursion is impeded or abbreviated due to factors we control:

  • Proportional refund based on the portion of service not used
  • Credit for a future yacht rental of matching value
  • Complimentary services or upgrades as compensation

Issues Caused by Guests

If an excursion ends prematurely due to guests' behavior or breaches of safety protocols:

  • No reimbursement for the time not used
  • Full payment is still required
  • Possible additional charges

Resolving Disputes

If there is a disagreement with a refund decision, one may:

  • Ask for a reconsideration by our administrative staff
  • Submit supplementary documents or proof
  • Engage consumer protection organizations
  • Seek legal measures as per relevant law

How to Submit for a Refund

Your request should include the subsequent details:

  • Confirmation number of the reservation
  • Date and time of the yacht rental
  • The cause for retracting the reservation
  • Any relevant support documents (if needed)
  • Chosen method for refund

Step 3: Assessment and Processing

We will acknowledge receipt of your plea within 24 hours, assess it in accordance with this policy, render a verdict within 48 hours, and initiate approved reimbursements in the timeframes stated above.

Essential Remarks

  • All appeals for reimbursement should be made in written form
  • Reimbursements are processed in € even if the original payment was made in another currency
  • We strongly suggest obtaining travel insurance
  • These guidelines are subject to modification, provided 30 days notice
  • Refunds are subject to prevailing taxes and regulations
